Save Douyin Videos to Your Camera Roll
The usual problem is not failing to download, it is not finding the file afterwards. Phone browsers do not write straight into the gallery: on iPhone the file lands in the Files app, on Android it lands in the Download folder. One extra step moves it into your photos.
First: get the clean file
- Open the post in Douyin, tap Share, then Copy link.
- Open the home page, paste and parse.
- Tap download and the browser starts saving the file.
iPhone / iPad
- Use Safari for the most reliable download behaviour.
- After tapping download, the download icon appears top-right; tap it to watch progress.
- Open the Files app, browse to Downloads and find the video.
- Long-press it, choose Share, then Save to Videos.
- Open Photos; it appears under Recents and in the Videos album.
Android
- Open this site in Chrome or the default browser and download.
- Pull down the notification panel to see progress and tap the finished item.
- The file is in the Download folder; search by file name in your file manager.
- If the gallery does not show it, move the file into DCIM or Movies.
Not found? Use this checklist
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing happens on tap | Download blocked or storage permission off | Allow downloads for the site, or switch to Safari or Chrome |
| File will not open | Interrupted download or no space | Use Wi-Fi and free up storage |
| Not visible in the gallery | File is still in Files or Download | Import it following the steps above |
| Strange file name | Special characters in the title were replaced | Rename it in the download list |
FAQ
Why does iOS not save straight to Photos?
By design, Safari downloads go to the Files app and you decide whether to store them in Photos, which adds the Save to Videos step.
How much space does a video take?
About 60-100 MB per minute at 1080P and 30-50 MB at 720P. Pick 720P when storage is tight.
